f. 19:22 :Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.

a-peKRIthePeiLAtos, Ho GEgra-pha [1124]GEgra-pha.

NOTE: The Holy Spirit through John wanted all future readers of the Gospel to clearlyknow the perfidy of the Jewish leaders, and the weakness of Pilate. He yieldedto the unjust pressure of these Jewish leaders.

And yet, the betrayal, and unjust Crucifixion of Jesus - was all according to the plan of God. Like a Master Chess-player, He saw the end from the beginning. And He used men like Judas, the Jewish Leaders, and Pilate for His own ends. Like the Potter and the clay - He makes and uses us to execute His predetermined will. But does thatexcuse those like Judas, Pilate and the Jewish leaders? Notatall!

And Pilate was fed up with the Jewish leaders and their hypocrisy. He was under no illusion concerning their motivations. When they sought to have him change the 3-fold inscription on the Cross above Jesus' head - he absolutely refused. Here - Truth prevailed. Jesus wassent by the Father as King of the Jews. Through all eternity this Divine fact will be known. The Remnant of the Jews who believe on Him, will justify God in their day.

Again, when we let God's Word mean what itwants to mean, we will then come to learn to let God saywhat Hewants to say! J.A.W.
